On May 11, 2017, U.S. Charge d’Affaires, a.i. to Hungary David Kostelancik and U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott paid a joint visit to the Hungary-Serbia border. Joined by Hungarian Head of Open Asylum Processing Facilities Béla Székely and Serbian Minister of Labor Aleksandar Vulin, the two diplomats viewed the facilities housing and serving asylum seekers in both countries, and heard briefings about the current situation by both countries’ authorities.
