International Education Week
On International Education Week (IEW) 2023, held this year on November 13-17, the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education join forces to celebrate the power of intercultural education and promote exchange opportunities. For High School Students
Linda Klein scholarship
The Linda Klein scholarship provides a 4-year full scholarship for Hungarian students to pursue undergraduate studies at Sewanee: The University of the South.

Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellow Summer Institute
The Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institutes invites teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18 to participate in an intensive, four-week exchange program in the United States that focuses on global issues facing both European and American youth. The next application period is expected to open in January 2024. Stay tuned!

SAT and TOEFL Test Preparation
You may need to take some tests for your applications to American educational institutions. Don’t worry! The EducationUSA Advising Centers are here to help. The Fulbright EducationUSA Advising Center in Budapest offers SAT, TOEFL, and GRE test preparation workshops online! Check out all of the upcoming EducationUSA Hungary events on Facebook. Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI)
SUSI for Scholars, Secondary Educators and Student Leaders are academic programs whose purpose is to provide grantees the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions.

Fulbright Fellowships
Post-graduate students, lecturers, researchers and other mid-career professionals may apply for Fulbright fellowships annually in October and May. Get informed well in advance and make the most of the test preparation online workshops that the Fulbright Advising Center offers.

Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative (YTILI)
Are you a young entrepreneur looking to enhance entrepreneurship and leadership skills? Build lasting partnerships between business leaders from Europe and the United States through YTILI, that includes a 4-week fellowship placement in the U.S.

Civil Society Leaders
If you are interested in bringing change to your community, you may choose from several opportunities.
The Community Engagement Exchange Program is a transformational year-long leadership development program designed to enable civil society leaders, ages 21-28.
The Community Solutions Program is a professional development program for global community leaders, ages 25-38 at the time of application, working in Transparency & Accountability, Tolerance/Conflict Resolution, Environmental Issues, and Women’s Issues.

The GLC Professional Fellows program is a two-way exchange involving 30 professionals from five European countries and 15 mentors from the United States who will effect positive change in their communities. Three Hungarian participants joined the GLC Professional Fellows Program in 2023. Read about their experiences.

A fantastic and free resource to guide you through application processes, and help you with test preparation, English writing and speaking skills development is the American Corners network in Pécs, Debrecen, Veszprém, Szeged and Budapest. These offices organize tons of events and serve as places for American cultural immersion without having to fly across the ocean.
