Call for Applications: English Language Fellow (ELF) Program
The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Budapest is accepting applications from Hungarian universities to host English Language Fellows (ELF) in the 2024-2025 academic year.
All costs related to the ELF program are covered by the U.S. Department of State, including salaries, housing, and travel. Host institutions are only asked to provide logistical support, like finding an apartment or assisting the ELF in obtaining the residence permit. Universities that fulfill all requirements listed below on the application form are welcome to apply.
English Language Fellows are TEFL/TESL M.A. graduates who use cutting-edge methodologies to teach communicative English language skills. They serve as full-time English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instructors and may teach up to 20 classroom hours a week.
Typical Fellow projects include teaching EFL, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), or American Studies. In addition, Fellows may participate in or organize related activities such as developing materials and lesson plans, conducting workshops and seminars for teachers, or English language conversation/discussion clubs for students. Fellows may also participate in different outreach activities organized by the host institution.
Fellows are assigned for up to 10 months, beginning in September 2024.
