Ambassador Pressman Travels to the Hungary-Ukraine Border and to Meet with U.S. Servicemembers Helping to Secure NATO’s Eastern Flank
On May 3, U.S. Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman will travel to Hungary’s northeast border region with Ukraine. During his visit, the Ambassador will engage with community members, refugees from Ukraine, representatives of the Jewish community, municipal leaders, Hungarian border officials, and members of the press.
On May 4, the Ambassador will travel to Camp Croft near Veszprém to meet with U.S. servicemembers serving in the 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment. The U.S. Army’s presence in Hungary plays an important role in securing NATO’s eastern flank.
As President Biden has reiterated, the United States will continue to support Ukraine’s ability to defend its people, its sovereignty, and its independence. The United States and its Allies’ enduring support remains vital to securing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
