Summary: The U.S. Mission in Budapest is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Janitor in the Facility Management Office (FM).
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time – 40 hours per week
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position:  No

Duties:  The Janitor provides professional cleaning services to all U.S. Embassy properties including: Chancery and Controlled Access Compounds, General Services Office Annex, residential compound common areas, Temporary Duty apartments, and residential properties during make readies. S/he also provides other cleaning services as needed such as cleaning of welcome kits and residential furniture. Incumbent uses all equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently. The Janitor serves as the eyes and ears of the Management Facility Office and reports any problems noted regarding building components and systems. The Janitor will be required to work during non-business hours such as nights and early mornings and overtime may be required at short notice. S/he schedule may change according to the needs of the Embassy.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Education:   Basic (elementary) education level is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  One or more years of housekeeping or cleaning experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, supplies and equipment to include knowledge of how to employ them in a safe, responsible manner.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Rudimentary (Level 1, speaking and reading) English is required.  Good Working Knowledge (Level III, speaking and reading) of Hungarian is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms.

Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
