Application Process

  1. To apply, please note that you must submit an Application Form (DS-0174 Application for Employment as a locally Employed Staff or Family Member) that addresses the qualifications required and explains in detail how your experience, education or special training relates to those of the advertised position.
  2. In addition to the Application Form, you are encouraged to submit other supporting documents (CV, reference letters, certificates, etc.)
  3. Please email these documents to BudapestRecruitment@state.gov referencing the title and vacancy number of the position you are applying for, or mail/bring them to the Embassy (Szabadsag ter 12.)

Supporting documents and certificates can be attached using Adobe Acrobat Reader (pdf) or Microsoft Word (doc/docx) format. Please do not attach any other formats to your e-mail. If your attachments exceed the maximum allowable size of 15 MB, please submit these separately by submitting a second electronic application and attaching them hereto referencing the vacancy announcement number.

Please, note that we cannot accept general applications, e.g. applications for positions that are currently not being advertised.

Do you have a valid residence/work permit for Hungary?

Please note that you are not eligible for employment with the U.S. Mission to Hungary if you do not hold a valid unrestricted residence/work permit for Hungary. Please, only proceed with your application if you hold a valid unrestricted residence/work permit.
