The Embassy wishes to advise you of several large events planned for the weekend of April 23-24, 2022.
Saturday, April 23, 2022
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Approximately 1,000 people will gather for a walk for autism awareness from Széchenyi tér to Duna korzó ending at Március 15. Tér.
3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
As many as 15,000 people will conduct a bicycle parade through downtown Budapest near the Danube River. The route begins at Városliget (Királydomb). It follows through Dvorák sétány to Damjanich utca to Rottenbiller utca to Rákóczi út to Kossuth Lajos utca to Szabad sajtó út, then across the Erzsébet híd. From there it follows to Apród utca to Lánchíd utca around Clark Ádám tér to Alagút to Attila út to Dózsa György tér to Krisztina körút, and then back across Erzsébet híd. Cyclists will proceed to Március 15. tér to Pesti alsó rakpart to Népfürdő utca then across the Árpád híd to Margitsziget.
4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
As many as 15,000 people will gather at Kossuth Lajos tér for a rally to “to start Hungary on the path of change.”
Sunday, April 24, 2022
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Approximately 7,000 people are expected to meet at Újpest rakpart for a march across Margit-híd to Margitsziget to remember victims of the Holocaust.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid the areas where event participants or demonstrators are gathering and marching.
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Comply with directions from local authorities.
