Partnering with BrandUSA and the Hungarian Discover America Committee, our Embassy sponsored an exclusive film screening of a newly-released 3D documentary titled “America’s Musical Journey” in Budapest on April 9, 2019.

This remarkable film provided snapshots from multiple cities across the United States whose musical culture and roots triggered the development and global growth of multiple music genres, including jazz, blues, and rock and roll.

Chargé d’Affaires David Kostelancik kicked off the event with some brief remarks before a full and enthusiastic audience of over 100 travel and tourism-related industry partners and contacts – as well as over 20 media representatives.  The documentary sparked a lively moderated discussion afterward with Hungarian-born blues musician Little G Weevil about his own American musical journey of discovery.
