Apply now for the Ambassador’s Fund for Summer Work and Travel (AFSWT) Program, a scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State!
The Department of State and U.S. Embassy Budapest, working together with Cultural Homestay International and their local partner Camp Leaders Hungary, offers a unique opportunity for Hungarian youth who have been unable to participate in the Summer Work and Travel (SWT) program due to disadvantaging circumstances. This scholarship is especially for university students who previously studied English, but may lack confidence in speaking it.
The Summer Work and Travel Program enables students to be part of a team, working at a traditional American children’s summer camp, learning about the American culture first hand, and deepening their English language abilities. The AFSWT program is different from the traditional SWT program: the scholarship covers most expenses of the participants and selected applicants will receive an intensive English course prior to travel.
The Scholarship covers:
- Intensive English training
- Return flight ticket to the United States and back
- Visa fees
- Sickness and Accident Insurance Plan
Application:
Application period is between November 23, 2021 and March 31, 2022. Spots will be filled on a rolling basis.
