Ambassador Cornstein visits ILEA

Ambassador David B. Cornstein had an interesting and informative visit to the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Budapest on July 16. During a tour of the facility led by ILEA Director Susan Ostrobinski, Ambassador Cornstein learned about the facility’s history as well as its ongoing work in training law enforcement officers, judges, and prosecutors from multiple countries in the region.

ILEA training focuses on several areas, including anti-corruption, cyber-enabled crime, countering violent extremism, and all forms of transnational organized crime, such as the trafficking of narcotics, humans, and wildlife. The visit coincided with the ILEA worldwide directors meeting, which brought together leaders from all six ILEA facilities around the world and provided information on the global importance of the program.
