Demonstration Alert – U. S. Embassy Budapest, Hungary (April 6, 2018)

 

  1. Location: on the route of City Park (district 14.) – Dvorák sétány (district 14.)– Damjanich utca (district 7.) – Rottenbiller utca (district 7.)  – Wesselényi utca (district 7.) – Akácfa utca (district 7.)  – Király utca (district 7.) – Deák tér (district 5.) – Erzsébet tér (district 5.) – József Attila utca (district 5.)  – Nádor utca (district 5.) – Vértanúk tere (district 5.) – Vécsey utca (district 5.) – Szabadság tér (district 5.), in between Hütte Café and the Soviet War Memorial, Budapest, Hungary

Event: A march is expected to take place on April 7, 2018, beginning at 5:00 p.m. to encourage people to participate in the national elections.  Up to 1500 participants are expected to take part.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the demonstration route, after 5:00 p.m. on April 7, 2018.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Avoid crowds.
  • Avoid demonstrations.

 

  1. Location: Kossuth tér (district 5.) Budapest, Hungary

Event: A demonstration is expected to take place on April 9, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the result of the elections.  Up to 1000 participants are expected to take part.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid Kossuth tér, after 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2018.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Avoid crowds.
  • Avoid demonstrations.
